[4 Seasons] Chapter 1 ~Winter~

  

4 Seasons was created having four stories base, each other connected to a specific Season. They are also connected to one another in some way, making a full cycle. You will find that even small details in one narrative, will end up being clues about one of the other narratives. I leave you with the first chapter, 4 Seasons ~Winter~.

Season: Winter

Characters: Shinji & Sora

We are at a small living room, made of wood. We find a couple of bookshelves, some old porcelain and some antique objects. We observe the small room until we find a man in is 40s, Shinji, looking through the window. Its raining. He has a melancholic look on his face. Shinji sees the rain falling down for a couple of seconds. After that he moves away from the window, gets near the front door, grabs a scarf which he puts around his neck and leaves the house.

Shinji closes the door behind him and we begin to hear a piano. The camera backs away and shows us the living room once again until it arrives to an old piano and another man, Sora, who is playing the instrument. He plays a really sad song, having a melancholic look on his face as well. Sometime later he stops playing and looks to a red rose in a jar on the top of the piano. Sora looks at it for a couple of seconds.

We return to Shinji. He’s near a river looking to the sky. A girl passes behind him and she also seems sad. Shinji drops a tear which the camera follows. When it falls on the river, the tear makes small waves from where some letters appear writing 4 Seasons ~Winter~.

At the living room we see the piano without Sora. He wanders through the room. Grabs some books, like searching for something, putting them on their place again after some seconds. He does the same to some other objects and suddenly stops. He grabs something… A photo of him and Shinji, both smiling. Sora looks to the photo for a while, places it on its place and looks around. Goes back to the piano and begins to play another song.

Shinji walks on a desert street. The rain stopped. Some steps later he’s illuminated by a bright light. He looks up. We see that the sun is behind some clouds, creating a light which gives the impression of being an entrance to Paradise, a bright light that goes through the clouds and reaches Shinji. We stay with him for a while until some doves, which were near Shinji, fly away. The sound made by the wings make Shinji “wake up” to reality.

In close-up we see Sora’s and Shinji’s photo. The piano song stops again. We see Sora with some tears on his face. Again, the red rose. We approach the rose even more so it fills the screen.

When the camera backs away we see a red rose on a small vase at a florist’s exterior.
